Career-Readiness Courses
FHS 21st Century has added 5 career-readiness courses to our program. Students will get the opportunity to learn about various industries before graduating. The Career Readiness Courses are 8 weeks long and are scheduled throughout the year. Each career industry will be partnering with community businesses to allow more experience for each student. We believe through these courses, students will be more prepared for life after high school.
Athletics
FHS Athletics Department
is an extension of our 21st Century program. We offer sports each year in our athletic department, depending on student interest. That encompasses practices, competitions, and championship opportunities. We believe in winning the game on and off the court, and our student-athletes embody this goal each and every day. Each student-athlete is required to meet FHS Athletics Department standards, which our coaching staff is committed to instilling in our players. FHS Athletics has a winning culture. Our core values for both coaches and players are determination, hard work, discipline, and passion.
Clubs
FHS Clubs
are an extension of our 21st Century program. Our clubs address a range of interests within our school. FHS clubs promote student exposure to other programs throughout the state. They travel to events and competitions specific to their specialties. Clubs are a platform for students to express themselves and grow individually. Clubs are a prime representation of FHS culture.

Next Step Program
(Career & College Readiness Program)
At FHS, our motto is preparation for life. The Next Step Program is committed to preparing our students for life after high school. Next Step is the catalyst for our school. Each student chooses a career path, then a specialized program is applied to each student for career and college readiness. Specialized programs include college selection, college visits, career placement, and internships. The College Readiness sector of Next Step is partnered with OSU Brighter Future. College Readiness provides ACT prep and college application assistance.
Events
Empowerment & Events
21st Century has multiple programs and events that are geared towards empowerment. These are social events that provide a space for emotional and social learning opportunities for our students. The diversity within our events allow students to be exposed and develop a sensitivity to different cultures. Empowerment & Events provides students with awareness and allows interaction with others in a healthy manner. Our goal of Empowerment & Events is to teach students life skills needed for success.
Past Empowerment Events:
- Ladies 1st
- Man Up
- Game Night
- Taco Tuesday
School Advancements
School Advancements are an extension of 21st Century. They are internal programs of FHS that operate as a resource to all of our students. We have 3 School Advancements; Bird’s Nest, Feathers, and Work Study. These programs allow students to gain work experience while in high school. Bird’s Nest is a student store that teaches finances and business. Feathers is a free clothing store, within the building, that is available to all students. Work Study provides students the opportunity to earn high school credit while working an out-of-school job that encourages the growth of lifelong skills.
